Grading Policy |
The curriculum is a balance of sports skills, motor skill concepts, life-time activities, rhythmical/dance and fitness experiences. Activities focus on the cognitive, motor, affective and physical fitness concepts that are important to development. Students will also have the opportunity to work on cooperation, personal responsibility, sportsmanship and goal setting skills.

Students will be issued a PE lock and locker the first week of school. The combination needs to be remembered. The locker should be used to keep uniforms and tennis shoes in. Lockers must be kept locked at all times. If a lock is lost, students must pay $5 to the office for a new lock. Locks from home may not be used. Uniforms & SuppliesStudents will be required to change into uniforms every day. All students are required to purchase a physical education uniform which includes a t-shirt and shorts. Students must also wear a pair of tied, non-marking tennis shoes and socks.
Sweat clothes are allowed but NOT required. Students may wear a plain pair of black, red, gray or white sweatpants and/or sweatshirt. Whiteside sweatshirts and sweatpants may be worn. Uniforms MUST be worn under sweat clothes. Student's name must be written on all articles of clothing in designated areas with black permanent marker. This serves as the student's ID during class. Teachers will instruct students on how to label clothing. For hygiene, deodorant is encouraged. No spray cans are allowed in locker room. Jewelry is discouraged. No dangling or hoop earrings. Post earrings will be allowed. Necklaces must be tucked in. Watches may be worn depending on the activity. No glass is allowed in locker rooms. Keep all valuables locked at all times. It is suggested that uniforms are washed weekly. |
Students will be responsible for all material covered in class and any information included on study sheets. There will be a study sheet for the unit we are in. Study sheets and extra credit are available in the gym.. Grade is based on skill testing, written exams, participation, dressing out, sportsmanship, social interaction, homework and effort.
Tests & Study Sheets
Written exams will be given for most units. Study sheets will be available in the gym. Some will be available to be viewed and/or downloaded from this site. Homework

Injuries/Illnesses
Please send a note from home if your child needs to be excused from participation. If your child needs to be excused longer than two days or has restricted activity, please send a doctor’s note. |
